Sirasana or Supported Headstand


Day 7 of the #BalancedAndAligned2017 challenge is #sirasana or supported #headstand
When the adrenal glands are flushed and detoxified with headstands, we create more positive thought and reduce depression. Headstands also increase nutrients and blood flow to the brain and scalp.
⭐In the kneeling position exhale as you lace your fingers together and put your elbows and forearms on the floor

⭐ Inhale as you press your palms together with the back of your head against your clasped hands or slightly open your palms, with your fingers still laced together cradling the back of your head as you exhale

⭐ Inhale as you lift your knees off the floor, as you slowly walk your feet closer to your elbows, (knees bent and heels off the floor)

⭐ exhale as you push your torso away from the mat using your shoulders for a firm base and to avoid too much weight on your head and neck

(beginners should stay here for 10 to 15 seconds at a time then repeat)

⭐Inhale as you slowly lift and extend your left foot toward the sky, finding your balance, followed by your right foot bring both legs together extending them up to the sky

⭐ Hold for 15 to 30 seconds then slowly exhale as you bring your feet to the floor in front of you with straight legs, then slowly bring your knees to the floor

⭐ Inhale as you return to the kneeling position
The crown chakra also known as the thousand petaled lotus, or #Sahasrara is the seventh chakra and it is the symbol of purity and spirituality and provides the direct connection to our Divinity.The #Sahasrara chakra is associated with the element of thought and the colors white and violet. As we think we create our reality so this chakra focuses on our power of thought and creation, it is the highest function of the mind.
